2013年4月19日，美国《科学》杂志以The History and Achievements of the school of the Gifted Young为题介绍了中国科大少年班学院。杂志从专门的学生选拔方式、独特的课程体系、学生培养成果、“为未来创造领导者”的办学目标4个方面，对少年班学院的历史和成就进行了系统的总结，并且称少年班学院的办学是一项对中国优秀学子因材施教的教育实践。
